Arbor Day Volunteer Initiative

In celebration of International Arbor Day, The Princess Basma Center for Development - Jerash is implementing cooperation with the local community organization in planting Kittah, the municipality of Al-Ma’rad, the Kittah cultural forum, community support committees, funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHCR) organized a distinctive volunteer campaign titled "Volunteering on Arbor Day." 20 men and 30 women, Rfugees and Jordanians participated together in the campaign, aiming to foster feelings of collaboration and care among diverse community groups.

Following that, a stop was made in the Kittah area for a comprehensive cleanliness campaign covering the entire area, where volunteers actively contributed to enhancing the overall appearance of the region. In the next station, participants moved to the garden of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, dedicated to aromatic plants, where they installed artificial bird nests on the trees as an expression of their commitment to preserving bird habitats.
The campaign concluded successfully with the planting of evergreen trees along the street adjacent to the Kittah Sports Club, leaving a splendid green footprint in the area. The spirit of innovation and environmental concern was embodied through a youth initiative titled "Our Green Ma'rad," initiated by the youth committees at the center. In this context, the campaign serves as a model for social collaboration and environmental care, showcasing the unity of residents and refugees in achieving sustainable improvement for the community and the local environment.
